age structure (age pyramids), overall mobility and energy consumption transport. To produce
our assignment we combined three different approaches, namely, mobility forecast models
based mainly in GDP evolution1, effect of demography changes in the travel patterns2 and the
paradigm shift necessary to achieve sustainability in the long run3. We also took in account
the social and economic specificities of the regions we studied.
We focused in two countries, first Venezuela, which is undergoing at this moment an
extensive investment in public transport infrastructures. But we made a more in deep study
about Ethiopia, were we have a scenario that is almost the mirror image of the challenges
